Today I've decided to delight you all with a list on the progress of my big list.
- I've been reading a lot. Can't say that I've loved every book so far, but recommend City of Thieves if you like WWII fiction.
- As you know, we had a mini vacation to Palm Springs, which was a lot of fun and something we all agreed would be a great annual, family thing to do. While we were there, we visited The Living Desert, no. 22 and 23, respectively.
- The Living Desert is awesome! The flora and fauna of the deserts of the world, complete with a giraffe, zebra and mountain goats, who are really nimble and can scale a tall mountain quickly.
- The tide pools, (no. 28), were fantastic, much more exciting than I remembered. And I learned a bit about tide tables and how the sea rolls. (haha, I just wanted to say that.)
- I'm still squeamish and won't stick my finger near a sea anemone for suction, but I love when my kid goes for it and I can take her photo.
- The lighthouse on the Palos Verdes pennisula is beautiful. And was completely fogged in, blanketed really, on the day I visited so you'll have to take my word that it is a pretty destination.
- I've gone to three gallery shows, no. 37 on the list.
- There was a curious exhbition of art by L.A. artists called Under The Big Black Sun at The Geffen Contemporary Museum, (forever known to me as the Temporary Contemporary).
- Then there was an exquisite photography exhbition of Weegee's Hollywood years, all black and white and a beautifully curated show at MOCA.
- Be still my heart...last weekend there was an opening of my favorite street artists, Herakut. (The beautiful bird girl above, was painted nearby the gallery.)
- I'm very excited about no. 50 and 51. The mister needed both Photshop and Lightroom for work, (he's on his own and is designing brochures, business cards, etc.) and there are two downloads with the software. Yay! And high time, considering I've been ghetto style photo editing for years, (picnik), and have wanted to, needed to procrastinated on, learn for years.
