list no. 7 :: coming attractions

1. This is the first, proper winter we've had in Los Angeles.
2. It has been cold for here, and I found myself looking at my short sleeved tops longingly, a sure sign that I'm ready for spring.
3. One cool winter fact about Los Angeles: many things bloom.
4. The cacti and succulents are ablaze right now. (I have yet to get a good shot of my favorites, but I continue to try.)
5. And all the magnolia trees are blushing pink ombre blooms, begging to be shot in Polaroid, if only the trees I've spied weren't set back onto a private front lawn.
6. It's ski week here, translating to no school for A, which bodes well for a break from puppy and house training.
7. It's also really good for A to get comfortable with being left alone.
8. She hates it, but she also needs to get used to confronting things that make her uncomfortable. 
9. In a very controlled way. I literally leave for an hour during daylight hours. 
10. Thursday I have an appointment and she'll be on her own for 2 hours.
11. I'm sure you can guess how well that news was received.
12. In a complete non-sequiteur, I love that gladiator sandals are still big in fashion.
13. I love this pair, but not the price. I'm hoping 6pm.com will get them and they'll be half-off.
14. 6pm is rad for other items as well. I've scored SERIOUS bargains on Frye boots and Hobo wallets. I go on there frequently and I look for the style I want. 
15. Do you know Gentle Souls? Cute and practically orthopedic!! Seriously, they're made with comfort in mind and I have a pair of high heeled platforms that I love.

18. I've been thinking about my digital camera and what I want to do with her. She's collecting dust, but I'm loathe to sell her. She's just a heavy beast and lately, I haven't wanted to be a gear head, more a girl on the go.
19. I've been out shooting again and it's good. I had a serious dry spell and I was getting a bit concerned.
20. I'm ready for a new leather bag. Please tell me your favorite places to shop - everything I'm seeing is either 1) too expensive or 2)old lady-ish
