The single surprising thing about life with a puppy is how much shit he can get into his mouth.
To date, (and we've had him exactly 12 days), a list of what I've removed from Howard's mouth:
- a 2" long wood chip, that might have been bark from the garden mulch mix in my neighbor's driveway planter.
- Howard is very clever at shimmying through the bars on the gate and escaping. Good thing he's not fast. Yet.
- Countless rocks, average pull is 3 a day.
- An old spiderweb from underneath the corner of the house.
- Moulding, or caulking, or cement. Some piece of white material that was very man-made.
- A dishtowel dragged to his pillow.
- The string on my sweatshirt, slowly snaking its way down his throat.
- A small green weed growing from a crack in the narrow walkway along the side of the house
It's a given about all babies at various times,
it's a good thing he's cute...
Rocky is a "grown up" and he still eats weird shit. Dustballs. Plastic...he loves to chew on plastic. Pretty much anything he finds on the kitchen floor. Have to keep packing materials, guitar strings and ribbons far from his reach. He's a weirdo.
