- Warmer weather
- The ocean warming up enough to swim
- Going to the beach with my girl
- Sand so hot you have to leave your flip flops on or have burned feet
- The marine layer, also known as 'June Gloom'
- No school lunches to pack
- Popsicles
- Summer fruit, especially cherries
- Fireflies and bats at dusk, (even if we no longer live in a place where we see these creatures, they're such a winsome and rich memory of summer that I love.)
- BBQ's
- Cocktails with the neighbors outside on the dead end street
- My gardenia bush blooming blossoms on a regular basis
- Goslings Dark Rum + ginger ale, (dig on the groovy reggae music when you click the link. wondering if it helps sell rum? if i hadn't had it before, i don't know if i'd buy it with that cheesy advertising.)
- Metallic toe nail polish
- Lip gloss instead of lipstick
- Going out in the evening without a sweater
- Bike rides
- Rollerskating
- Cold brew coffee over crushed ice
- Any beverage over crushed ice
- Sand in the bottom of every bag
- Pressed Juicery is opening close by.(Which isn't really a summer thing, but it is opening this summer and I'm excited about that.)
- Linen clothing
- Sun hats that your friends make fun of, but do a damn good job with coverage
- Monday mornings, when our beach town is back to locals and the tourists have gone home
