1. We had a fantastic vacation.
2. We flew in late Friday evening and hit the ground running Saturday morning to meet my college friend and her family who also happened to be in NY.
3. The girls wanted to visit Mood, which is every bit as spectacular as it seems on Project Runway. And there's a home furnishings store next door that we've never seen on the PR, that had me the moment I crossed that threshold.
4. We walked the high line, had a delicious lunch at The Standard Hotel and then it was off to Brooklyn for dinner with my first mama friend, (and A's first friend ever), who started a baby group we joined when we moved to Brooklyn. It was fun to catch up and especially watch A and my friend's son re-connect.
5. After dinner I dropped A off with her camp friend to stay overnight and I got a bit of time alone.
6. Monday morning we picked up A's BFF, (luckily C's NJ town had spring break last week too), and we were off.
7. We went down to Battery Park City to eat at Shake Shack, (never been, believe the hype!), did some shopping in Soho and then it was back to Times Square to meet C's mom for dinner.
8. I do not love the crowds in Times Square, but the lights! I never tire of them, especially at dusk.
9. C stayed over with us and Tuesday we had every intention of going to MOMA to see Bjork, as did most of the city on a cold day.
10. Too bad, I'd really have loved to see that exhibition.
11. Instead, we went to The Met to visit C's favorite room,
some of my favorite paintings,
and to go see the Egyptian room, which A couldn't remember having ever seen.
12. Two shows in two days, with killer orchestra seats, A was lucky and got to see a third show Sunday with her camp friend.
13. An American in Paris was definitely my favorite.
14. The remainder of the trip was spent with A's friends shopping, eating and relaxing. It was nice to be included in their conversations, (I learned a lot of things I might not have wanted to know...eep!), and really, I feel honored that they feel safe talking like that in front of me.
15. It's definitely a very different trip being the chaperone, and while I was over it at the end, (teen girls take a lot of energy, even when they are lovely), I'm so grateful that A and I had this time together.
