fourteen

I'm posting from mid town Manhattan, where my girl and I are having our first, proper, girls' vacation. She's with her bestie from camp and I'm here in our hotel relaxing before I hit the ground running. 

In other news...

1. This week was a big one.
2. A turned 14 on Monday.
3. She pointed out that the amount of time she has left in this house and town, (she's dead-set on the east coast for college), are the same amount of years that we've lived here in Los Angeles, and how quickly that time has passed/will pass.
4. Gulp.
5. She is so excited to roam around the city, and then a Broadway show, all on their own.
6. Her friend travels to Brooklyn every day alone for school and it's  a level of sophistication and maturity that A has respect for. 
7. She's looking forward to that same freedom when we're visiting. 
8. Gulp.
9. NJ also has spring break which works beautifully for A to have her BFF come stay with us for two days. 
10. I will play silent chaperone and shutter pusher, (they want to shoot all around the city), and I never mind time spent walking around and shooting so I anticipate a good time.
11. We are seeing two Broadway shows in addition to the one that A is seeing with her friend, and someone has a nice wad of birthday $$ to blow so there will be shopping as well.
