- This article sent to me by a friend on Facebook.
- 2015 is turning out to be the year of music, (hurray!), with quite a few tickets purchased, and a calendar full of fun.
- There are a few with the mister, a festival, (A's first!), and of course, a couple shows solo with friends.
- This is a big week for my girl, leaving for her second year of 3 1/2 weeks in the Adirondacks at sleep away camp.
- It's not my favorite, but I consider it good practice in letting go.
- The best thing I can do for her is to prepare her for adult life through independence and self-sufficiency.
- And it prepares me so I don't find myself with empty nest syndrome.
- I'm slowly reading this.
- M and I love this show.
- I've begun a weekly jump into the ocean.
- And it's totally lame that I have to make it a declaration, but I didn't even go into the ocean once last summer, so a declaration seemed fitting don't you think?
- The ocean is amazing right now, so warm, and so clear!
- It used to be that the sea was a murky dark green, with bits of sandy brown.
- Now it's aqua blue and so clear to the bottom, and guess what? There are GREAT WHITE SHARKS HERE.*
- Apparently, since these are juvenile and only 6-8' they won't bite.**
- The water has been cleared more than once in the past couple of weeks because one shark was pacing the junior life guard swim, and another bonked a paddle board a couple times with its nose.***
- Waist-deep is my deep end, friends.
*i grew up here, and i was always afraid to go out far, past the wave breaks, because of sharks and i was ridiculed for it. 'there aren't great white sharks here...' that's because the water was filthy and murky and you couldn't see them fuckers!
**they just haven't bitten anyone yet. but the mama shark that was spied in the same slew of days? i bet she'd be happy to sample.
***seems a bit aggressive - even if they don't bite i would not want a shark bumping my board or following me.
