1. It was a festive Fourth in these parts. 
2. Like mounted police in formation on the sand to control the crowds on the strand festive.
3. I took a photo walk with my digi-beast, shooting from the hip, and I can't wait to process the photos. 
4. It was also a big week with A having her braces removed, an entire year earlier than the ortho anticipated. 
5. She's excited to go to camp and then high school with her pearly whites.
6. I watched this film, which was surprisingly good. 
7. My friend and I were discussing Kathryn Hahn, who is everywhere these days, (love her), and my friend has a Roku, searched by actress, and that's how we found the film.
8. Do you have a Roku or some such thing? Thinking it might be the way to go around here...
9. I finished this book, the follow-up to this one.
10. I enjoyed both books, but the follow-up book was really quite sad, especially its end.
11. I swam in the ocean on Saturday, it was a balmy 68 degrees, and there was a pod of five dolphins swimming beyond the wave line.
12. Pretty much a perfect afternoon.
13. I bought us tickets to watch Grace Jones and Future Islands at the Hollywood Bowl late September, 
14. and I've booked the hotels for the three day, mid-week getaway with a friend for my birthday, also in September. 
15. We're going to the desert, (Joshua Tree and Palm Springs), which have turned out to be my favorite thing about living in Los Angeles. 
16. I'm hoping to make it here, or should I say hear?
