list no. 3 :: oh, new york

Washington Square Park, NYC. SX-70/PX70 color protection film.

There and back. It almost feels like it didn't happen, literally a blink of the eye.

Immediately, almost achingly, at home the minute my feet hit the ground in Tribeca where my hotel was located. I'd never stayed in a hotel by myself in New York, and because we've always stayed midtown when we've gone back as a family, I wanted to be downtown where I gravitate.

  1. I walked my ass up and down the streets of Manhattan, mainly along 6th Avenue, which is an interesting walk in and of itself, but it was my most direct route to where I wanted to be.
  2. And my favorite diner is along the way, where I had breakfast every morning.
  3. I also walked through Washington Square Park, because that portion of where 5th Avenue begins...well, I love it there.
  4. And I always think of this film, one of my all-time favorites.
  5. The photo above, and one other, are the only two photos I made that seem like my own. The others are quite random and without much cohesion.
  6. Perhaps because I was quite rambly and very much with my thoughts.
  7. I finally got to Catbird, and it was as lovely as I'd expected.
  8. I ate at Eataly and wow, just wow. (If you've been there you'll know what I speak of.)
  9. I found a bag I'd been trying to find for ages, (yet another camera bag), and I picked up a pretty dress at Uniqlo which looks much better on than it does in the photo.
  10. I drank cucumber cosmos here,
  11. and the best part of all was my time with Bella, who really is all that and the bag of chips.

As my dear friend S said at dinner Wednesday night,

'you have the best of it. you come in, see your friends, have a few dinners...you buy a dress, and then you go home.'
