peeled

My show has its artist reception next Friday night. One week from today and I feel ready.*

I'm nervous, but it's secondary to the excitement and pride I feel with the work I've made.

The prints have exceeded any expectations and assumptions I had about printing my work on proper paper. I've always used archival blah-blah-blah, but this time I used fine art, archival paper. A beautiful cold-press that's thick and toothy, my black and white photos have never looked so good.

I'm in love with how I chose to have the images framed. The images are 8x10 in a 12x12 matte. The overall framed image is 13x13, both the matte and frame are white, and they'll hang in three rows of three.

The rectangular images, framed inside of a square, draws the viewer forward, achieving the intimacy that I desired. I've got a good idea of what I'd like my take-away to be, because everyone I'm showing with is providing some sort of thing to give to the guests that isn't a business card. (apparently no one does business cards anymore.)

I've got my dress and shoes, and I have a cross-body bag that will hold my things and keep me hands free to hold the liquid courage I will need

Stay tuned for a sneak peek of the images next week when we hang the work. I'm so excited!!

*ready to show, but not prepared as we are responsible for the entire show and my portion is making the signs for each of the artists saying titles and pricing and i won't have all the information until next week!

  1. How exciting! Best of luck to you. Wish I could see the images in person. Saw the few on Lenscratch and they look great.
