I had a very different day planned and if I'd been properly informed, this day, right now, would look different. As we know, (fuck, I get it already!!), we cannot control/predict/plan for anything other than being open to the possibility that all of your plans can and will change.
And if we're qualifying things, today's mishap will certainly not be a life changer, or even really, is it that big of a deal other than I am greatly inconvenienced by the fact that as I was walking out the door to walk my boy, the electric company informed me that electricity was going off right then for 6+ hours and the street would be blocked.
And the notice for all of that was in the mail, didn't you get it? Some of your neighbors know about this...
how exactly does that help me?
The barely luke-warm shower wasn't great, nor was the very short walk Howard got so that I could run back home for remnant heat in the water from the showers that happened earlier.
I gathered all my electronics and their chargers and I'm now sitting at Starbucks. I'm grateful that there's an outlet right next to my table, free wifi, and copious amounts of hot beverages; of course not free like at home, but without frap-a-lapping anything, they're not gonna break the bank.
I remind myself of serious things happening in the world and I take a breathe because a garage flooding, no electricity for a few hours...is it really worth being so angry?
