seasonally : winter

Eating
Tacos. Tamales. Fresh pea + mint soup. That chocolate I mentioned.

Drinking
It has been really, really dry here in Los Angeles, and even with all of the rain it has been a struggle to keep myself hydrated. It feels like I'm drinking a lot of water and it never seems to be enough

Practicing
Following my breathe, especially through my nose on the inhalation. So often I notice myself mouth breathing, (not just when I sleep), and I've also noticed that that sort of breathe is very often shallow. So I practice breathing, which sounds weird, but isn't.

Learning
Some things replay over and over, like this sentence:
when I assume/make assumptions, I make an ass out of you and me

And I am learning to recognize myself in the moment, when I'm making assumptions, and working myself away from that behavior. It's humbling.

Trying
I'm trying to be patient with this photo-making business,(all aspects of it), knowing that making  strong portfolios takes time.

Finishing
I'm trying to shoot through the small stock pile of Impossible polaroid film that I have in my little fridge as I realized that it was becoming quite old and as we all know, the film becomes highly unstable as it ages. Case in point, the 3 packs of film I blazed through this weekend in San Diego that either didn't develop properly, or is covered in brown deterioration spots. For some photos it works, for the rest, not so much.

Remembering
That I am just as much of, (if not more of), a procrastinator than my kid, and being a hard ass about her study habits makes me a hypocrite. (see below under working...)

Cooking
Anything that I can make in the crockpot. We've always had the smaller, round-sized crockpot, and recently made the jump to include a bigger, oval, version that works like a champ when feeding a large crowd.

Working
I'm still working on my website. It shouldn't take this long, but it is what it is, and at this point, I know better than to beat myself up for my procrastinating ways.

Traveling
I am hoping to be done with San Diego for awhile. I have been all over its city limits and my opinion remains the same. On the calendar before the seasons change: Las Vegas; Palm Springs; Disneyland.

Wanting
I've got something special that I've wanted for a long time now that I'll buy for myself once I pay off my credit card. I'm almost there.
