It has been a good, celebratory birthday week. I think from here on out, I would like to celebrate my birthday for the entire week. I really liked honoring myself by taking care: going on a little road trip; buying myself a couple of coveted presents.
San Francisco was a good time, but damn it's a far to drive there and back in 48 hours. (I'm grateful that I was with my priend.)
In a day and a half technically, we saw a lot. We shot around town and we ate delicious food. The Cindy Sherman exhibition was all I hoped for and more. I was amazed and inspired and have since thought a lot about art-making and being an artist. I'm more curious about her than before, and hope that I'll get another opportunity sometime to see all 70 of her film stills together again.
It was fun to have a completely different agenda than previous visits to the Bay Area, staying in a different part of town, and doing and seeing different things than we do when we're in town as a family.

Today Los Angeles is another day of anever-ending heat wave; even the beach is too darn hot, so we've laid low and I suspect more of the same tomorrow.
Tonight miss thing is off to a sleep-over and we're having a Star Wars (episode four technically, but the first one in my book), watching party in full effect. Salty snacks and cold beverages included.
