Thursday, 5:22pm

I have a memory card full of photos from New York and a pile of polaroids and photo booth strips to scan and it's about the last thing I feel like doing, as I drift along my days, full of vigor and accomplishing very little.

I'm remembering routine, even though our routine has changed with middle school; a little later to start and pick-up, really just enough time for me and my girl to have breathing space.

Last night she said,

'I want you to walk to school with me...and I want you to meet me on the black top, is that ok?'

My heart swelled elatedly: she wants me to walk with her!  And I let her know that I'll walk with her to and from school as long as she wants, and I'm hoping it's longer than it will most likely be.

Laundry gets done, clothes are recycled and I continue to reduce our possessions, while piles of clutter remain from our move eight weeks ago, and the storage under our house belies that we're all moved in.
