A few weeks back, a FB friend linked to a video talk presented by Elizabeth Gilbert on the word 'balance' and its value, (or lack thereof), in our lives.
I haven't stopped thinking about it since, but not for the reasons you might think.
I'm not negating the value of what was said. The points made are true and if balance becomes what is described, than it is just another way to believe that something is wrong.
For me, balance is a fluid word and its color is blue. Much like the scales depicted with the astrological sign of Libra, even the Yin-Yang symbol, balance for me is ever-changing, always in motion.
I think of myself on a surfboard, (which is the only way I'll ever be on a surfboard), rising and dipping with the motion of the sea.
This is what 'balance' means to me.
Riding the highs and lows. The middle ground is always changing, my strength lies in being able to ground and center myself with the tides.
