- We're back and it's good to be home.
- 10 days is too damn long to be in one place, especially a place you've spent a good portion of your adult life.
- NYC is packed, definitely more crowded than when we left four years ago, not including all of the tourists.
- Crowded and hot is not how I like to roam the streets and I have very few photos to share.
- Interestingly, TriBeCa is the only part of town that didn't feel congested. We stayed down there the first night, just the two of us, in a special little hotel that I loved.
- It will definitely be my spot when I go to NYC alone.
- The hotel we stayed in as a family, (midtown), was also perfect, and will be the place we stay as a family going forward.
- Both flights were fantastic, and if you know me you know I don't ever say that. Virgin America is the only way I plan to fly to NYC because what is always a stressful situation just isn't.
- It's the first time since we've moved from the East coast that I've come home relieved and happy that we live here and not there.
- That said, the shopping is always good.
- And it was a major clothes packing fail, friends. Too many clothes, and once again, not enough smalls. Second year in a row that I undercut the undies, although this year it was by one day and in the end didn't matter because we flew home a day early.
- The theater and the food are also really good. I had the perfect Branzino with preserved lemons and mashed here, a place that is still amazing after all these years. (we had a few early dates here. back in the day it was quite the place.)
- We saw Neil Patrick Harris in Hedwig and the Angry Inch and that was pretty much the highlight of the trip for me.
- And the shopping.
