- I'm posting early this week as I'm hitting the road early tomorrow, and I'm leaving my laptop behind.
- This week kicked my butt with errands and organizing and preparation for a nine day journey.
- I think I mentioned this road trip...I'm driving up to San Francisco, picking up my first college roommate and then it's on up the Oregon coast, over to Portland and then back to San Francisco.
- I'd originally planned to take my new camera, (the hasselblad), but the learning curve for me is steep and I don't want to be learning on the road.
- And the camera is heavy, so I'm leaving her behind.
- Still very much equipped, (probably too much gear as usual), and still packing, right up to the minute I leave likely.
- I'm going to try an audio book. It seems like they've vastly improved from the old cassette taped version with an overacting narrator.
- I asked M if I'm always apprehensive before I travel, and he said I almost always act as if I don't want to go. Which sums it up quite tidily.
- Nine days is too long to be gone, I see that now. Although this has been a dream for a long time now and to do it properly, it needed more than a week.
- And I'm sure once I'm on the road and having fun, I'll be alright. (I almost always am.)
- In other news, Miss A's birthday party is planned, the deposit has been paid, and her presents have been chosen. It's a big birthday, thirteen, and we are making a weekend of it, (the last weekend of March.)
And that my friends, is all I've got. I'll catch you all from the road. XO
