A "blesson" is when you're able to view a painful lesson as a blessing.
In other words...a BLESSON is what happens when you see the blessing in the lesson that your challenge taught you.

A friend emailed this quote in her newsletter recently and it has resonated ever since.
For most of my life, I've carried my most painful lessons like a badge of shame. Hours, months, even years have passed before I've moved on and sometimes I wonder if I ever really do.
Knowing that I can't change the past doesn't alleviate the guilt and punishment that I willingly self administer and while I work away at the issues, I've come to believe that the baggage I carry is mine for the duration. I've noticed that despite my best efforts, the same shit presents itself in any number of ways, but it almost always breaks down to the core issue in the end.
I love the idea of a blesson, that the lesson has been learned and what's left is the joy of that truth. That's what I want: to experience that deeper understanding, to be able to really sit in the pain and then, pick myself up and walk away with a deep appreciation for that moment and place.
