I'm packing my bags today for the second, (and hopefully annual), Polaroid road trip, this time to Joshua Tree.
We'd originally planned to take over the Harmony Motel, but the shady lady who runs the joint tried to play us against one another with raised rates/smaller rooms, not realizing we were a group. As a group we've all decamped to the hotel down the road, free wifi included. Let the instagram bombing begin.
I love the desert and I really love being there during the winter months, when the temperatures are cooler and the colors are magnificent.
Even with a long to do list, I went out this morning for an early morning shoot. With two classes that will result in two group shows, I'mfinally taking my photography seriously and making work. This is my job and the making part is the only tangible call to duty. If I'm not shooting, than I'm not really a photographer am I?
There was a trip to BevMo for bevvies and Target for sunscreen. I need to get to the market later for food and nibbles, and I'm going to practice with my weenis because there are 25 confirmed variety of snake in the park, and there will be no running behind any bush or cactus.
