- I haven't been down to the beach as much as I'd intended, (it's sooo touristy here from June to September), and my proposed walking meditation hasn't happened.
- So often, I attach all these beautiful ideas around something I want to do, and the magnitude of all that energy, will paralyze me.
- Once again I'm reminded to leave behind my thoughts and be in the moment.
- Instead I've tried out the walking meditation app on the daily walks I take with my pooch.
- I've noticed when I'm focused on my breathe and less in my head, Howard is also less hyper on our walk.
- The single best thing I've done this year has been to buy cute workout gear.
- I worked hard to rid my wardrobe of any clothing that didn't make me feel my best, but I'd wear shitty workout clothing all the time.
- I'd recycle my old t-shirts for the gym, and I'd wear whatever bottoms I found on the sale rack at Target.
- I still shop at Target, but I've also integrated nicer leggings, made for working out.
- Wicking material is mandatory. So are sports bras.
- I got to eat in a restaurant this week that I've wanted to go to forever.
- You can believe the hype, it really is that good.
- And Chef Nobu was in the restaurant, (which apparently happens rarely in this location), and came over to our table to say hello.
- I'm not usually star struck, but I do crush on famous chefs.
- I love this beauty tip! It works great when you're the girl using a cotton swab to try to lift off the excess eyebrow makeup you've just applied so you don't look like Cruella DeVil.
- My little family is out of town. M took our girl to sleep away camp and once he drops her off, he'll continue onto NYC for business.
- When he returns in a week, I'll be in Canada, so it will be two weeks and our longest time apart since we got together 19 years ago.
- The three weeks that I won't see our kid...longest time we've gone apart and I don't like it. Not one bit.
- But it's the right thing for her and this mothering gig means that my biggest feat is raising a strong and independent girl who isn't too attached to her mama's strings.
