30

  1. I'm still recovering from vacation.
  2. We did a lot and we also did a fair amount of lounging about and all of it was a really good time.
  3. We drove through the prairies to a ghost town, and we went to Jasper, in the Canadian Rockies.
  4. What mountains! And what a sky...
  5. There are hot springs situated high in the mountains, almost level with the tree line, with smatterings of wild flowers growing alongside.
  6. They have evening hours, open until 11pm, and because it stays light until almost 11pm, when we arrived at 9pm, it was the perfect time.
  7. Four, beautifully maintained pools friends, ranging from hot to hotter, cold, to frigid.
  8. I've never bucked up to brave the cold dunk pool whenever I've gone to spa, but I knew that I was overheating and my girl reminded me to honor the mountains and I dunked in.
  9. I couldn't do the coldest, (it's glacier cold), but I did go into the cold pool, (river cold), more than once and the whole rotation was amazing.
  10. So was the truth that we were dunking in the mountains, at night, while the sun set and it was an experience I won't soon forget.
  11. Neither is the drive back. It was late when we left the hot springs and we decided to not book a hotel room.
  12. About 1am we were too tired to continue so we found a rest stop and slept for three hours in the car. It felt like an hour, and it wiped us out for the entire next day, which was lovely. We spent the time resting, eating and talking.
  13. And again, it was exactly what we needed.
  14. As many of you know, I've traveled frequently to Canada, and last week I had my first bad, (and I hope last), experience with customs.
  15. In an odd way, it validated the path I'm on and that's a good thing.
  16. And I've learned a few things about international traveling, and how I will handle myself going forward.
