I'm still crap when it comes to packing clothes for travel. As per usual when I'm having packing problems, I was still undecided the night before about what to take to Canada last week. We had a lot of activities planned that afforded a range of clothing options, (canoeing, hiking, swimming, drinks and dinner...), and it showed in the random contents of my bag. Why did I need so many damn pair of leggings?!??
This trip solidified that I don't need to pack a crap load of cameras. It can bite one in the ass when traveling internationally, (ahem), it's ridiculously heavy and it causes camera distraction. I end up with a lot of mish-mashed images; believing I've got the shot with one camera and realizing later that that wasn't the case at all.

We leave in five days for New York and I'm looking forward to it, even though I hate leaving my dog. It's been a year since I've been, and even longer since I've been upstate. I love upstate New York and it seems appropriate that I just finished watching Dirty Dancing as we're going to pick our girl up from a summer camp location that looks very similar.
We've got a busy trip planned with two Broadway musicals and dinner with friends. Our kid gets her time in the garden state, and we get to have two days alone in Manhattan.
I plan to walk the streets, do a little shopping, (Fall shopping in NYC is my favorite), and eat delicious meals with my man.

We've decided that this will be our last summer trip to NYC. Assuming miss thing will do summer camp again, we don't need to go back and forth through Manhattan. Camp is far from the city, (it's closer to Montreal), and there are other places we'd like to go to in the summer. And then the obvious, that there are certainly better times of the year to be in NYC.
I'm excited about this. There will be more solo trips for me, and maybe spring break will be NYC, a much better time to visit.
